Eeeeee, I got a Code Error !

I tried that thing twice just to make sure the code was right...

Weird thing is i typed, #pw+1234567890+1# and this too gave me a code error.

3 attempts gone, What is the problem? :conf:

Check the IMEI number carefully. Also the network (you said Orange UK most likely).

Don't enter any more codes just yet, I want to check that I was using the correct calc parameters with a couple of people first.

Well its the imei is correct i believe.

Its orange coz orange logo on the back and all that orange books n stuff...

Not sure about it being from the UK. Is there anyway to find out this information through the phone using IRDA?

And even if its the wrong code... Why cant i use the other code to check the lock status?

Back again, I checked the code with the creator of the unlocking program and it was right.

So.......

You have 2 tries left. The only other code to try is this one. I gave you code7 before, the next recommended one is code1....#pw+273505707117501+1#

Has your phone charger got a normal 3 pin plug on it, or is it a 2 pin with an adapter? I'm not being silly, but if it's a 2 pin it's a Euro model and I would need to know what country the phone came from. Orange have networks all over Europe. If the phone was originally on Orange France (for example) then the code for Orange UK would not work.

Enter it carefully ONLY ONCE!!!!!! and let me know what happens.

Im scared *biting nails*

If it doesnt work and somehow i get locked out can the shops unlock it for me? And also, they dont charge like extra just cos its harder to unlock or anything do they?

I cant exactly say where the phone is from and thats the biggest problem. The phone does come with the UK style charger, but that isnt proof that its a Uk model...

Im thinking of this as the last option for trying myself befre i get help.. So is this the code thats gonna make or break?

just composing myslef before i try it... :glass:

cheers

P.S Why doesnt the lock check code work? (is this wrong? #pw+1234567890+1#), gives me code error just like when the unlocking you gave me was entered.

Enter that and it used up 1 code. It's not a lock check code.

After you have entered code 1, enter this one and if that doesn't do it I'll resign from the forum. It will be my first and last failure.

So.....

You should have entered #pw+273505707117501+1#
Now enter #pw+174314605255611+2#

That would be your 5 code attempts.

BTW where did you get that lock code?

Just wanted to mention another point...

The thing is that ive read someone on a different forum saying they had a similar problkme to me...

The problem im facing is that the 6600 switches off when ever i put a simcard other than orange (tried o2 and vodaphone). Isnt the phone supposed to say simcard rejected instead of just switching off after the nokia intro?

On the other forum they told the other guy that his phone was unlocked but, the phone had compatibility issues with the simcard.

What do you think? Is this a new way NOKIA 6600 service provider lock works?

Quite possibly, it would be typical of Nokia.

However I managed to unlock my bosses 6600 very easily, so maybe it's a network dependent thing.

BTW did you try the codes?
