I found something on a website the other day about using your 3650/7650 as a TV remote control. Imagine the fun you could have with that in Comet or Currys...

For those that have one of these phones, here's the link...

HAPPY MESSING ABOUT!!!!!!!:) :) :) :) :)

I have no idea if it works, as I don't have either of these phones. But having read the feedback from people who have used it, it should be OK. I will take no responsibility if it f***s your phone up. Try it at your discretion.

i was thinking about this the other day. i was watching tv, with my 5100 by my side, thinking "if my phones got java, would it be to much to ask for someone to write a simple program that ustilises the Ir-Da port that Nokia seem to attach but never use in their software" I mean, i've got that kind of software for my PDA already, but i dont carry that around anymore (still trying to flog it :) ), but i always have my phone on me, where ever i am. maybe they'd consider a smaller version for the series 40 platform....

Agree its a nice idea in essence, the potential could be massive, especially with the ability to program in specific programs downloaded from an internet connection, so reminders etc...could also be set and you could even look into remote automation by dialling into your tv/dvd recorder for recording programs.....

I agree with you guys. There are lots of potential uses for it. I did read somewhere (can't remember where) that somebody may write it onto a Java J2ME platform  for use in Series 40 phones . At present it is only in use for Nokia 3650 & 7650 phones :(.

But imagine walking into a big TV superstore and turning all the hifi's up, changing the channels over and then turning them all off :) :) :).

And they'd never suspect you... :D :D :D
