I currently have a problem when using a Nokia 7250i as a modem from a PC.

When calling *any* number as a modem, the phone always appears to be dialling correctly but just returns a signal that indicates that the number is not valid. Calling the number from the phone itself works fine.

Have tried all permutations of using Infrared and DKU-5 data cable, 7250i modem driver and standard 9600 modem driver, Windows 2000 SP4 and WindowsXP Pro SP1.

Have tried many permutations of modem settings (flow control, etc).

The sim card is activated for data calls and GPRS.

Plugging in a Nokia 6310i into the same PCs works fine as a modem.

It appears to be either a setting on the phone or the service provider (vodafone) that either isn't activated or set correctly.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

FYI, this problem was finally solved by Nokia Technical Support.

The option in Menu/Settings/Call Settings/Send my caller identity needed to be "Yes" not "Set by network"
