I bought a data cable for my phone today. It connects to the PC using the COM port (not USB) and to the bottom of my phone through the Pop Port connector.

When it's all connected up, nothing happens. My PC does not recognize the phone as being connected. I've tried to use Oxygen (V2.5) and MobiMB 1.2 but after playing around with the connection settings they come up as 'phone not connected'. I've checked the COM port is working with the cable for my T100 and it is.

I know the cable will not work with Nokia Suite 'cos its not a USB cable.

Anyone got any ideas?? I'm banging my head up against a brick wall...literally!!!!

THREAD NOT CLOSED!!!!!!!!

YES!!!! LESSON LEARNT!!!!

But can't get the sodding thing to work!!!!

Installed the correct driver for the IRDA adapter (. Plugged it into a spare USB port, bloody thing keeps losing connection.

Have re-installed and removed the software that came with the phone, done several system restores. Keeps losing connection or my PC just freezes.

Downloaded a cracked version of Oxygen - won't recognize phone connection.

MobiMB - same problem.

What the f**k is going wrong????

BTW Sorry about the word above but this is severely stressing me out!!!!!!!!!

Bought it from Maplins.

At the moment it's on offer for £19.99 instead of £39.99.
