I'm trying to find the best deal possible for sending text messages in the UK. I'm thinking of getting a contract with Orange online, (£30 a month, 500 txts, 200 x network mins), I've also got an O2 pay as u go sim card which gives 300 free txts a month as long as you top up at least £10 a month. I can't use that till I get my phone unlocked though.
Does anyone know of any other deals out there that I should take a look at?
have a look at Orange Text Saver
it gives you 5 texts a day (they dont rollover) for £20 a year

I looked at lots of deals before i got a new phone this week. I couldn't find anything better than O2's online pay as you go sim that you already have, as i've been onit the past year and have saved a shed load of cash by not paying for my texts. I'd just see about getting your phone unlocked even if you have to pay for it. Mind you i'm sure that some of the clever people on this forum could help you ;-)
BTW NO i dont work for O2. LOL
o2 online 100 contract gives you 100 free any network/anytime minutes and 500 free texts
in fact all of o2's online tariffs give you 500 free texts
Virgin are good for texting another virgin mobile......just 3p a text, but wouldnt change over to them just for cheap texts.
I joined Orange the other day and i have a free text thingy which gives me free weekend unlimited (500) texts for six months........only thing is you have to wait two weeks for them to put it on your phone before you have the free texts.

For everyone on O2 online pay as you go 300 free txt etc. You now have options so you can send free Media Messaging. I thort this was a good idea  to post as some of my mates didn't get the email.
Tariff Options for Media Messaging
If you are not using all of your free monthly allowance of text messages* you can swap some or all of them for free Media Messages. There are four bundles to choose from and details of how to do this are detailed below:
To change your option type the copy below in a blank text message and send to 21300
Option 1 300-txt 0-MMS message to send SMS300
Option 2 200-txt 25-MMS message to send MMS25
Option 3 100-txt 50-MMS message to send MMS50
Option 4 0-txt 75-MMS Message to send MMS75
Applies to messages sent in the UK only. Terms & conditions apply see www.o2.co.uk/onlineterms
* Subject to £10 minimum monthly top up.
Somebody mentionned virgin already, i used to be on virgin, the only reason im not anymore is coz my phone needs to be unlocked as it only works on orange. As long as your friends have got a virgin mobile then its great, 3p a text!
I spose you could all get a virgin sim card and dual sim pack thingys, then text each other for 3p and swap to another sim for sending to other ppl!
