Hi guys, anyone know how to unlock an E700, remotley or by cable (tho prefably remotley or by Infrared if possible)?
I know I'm a mod, so I should know this, but I can't find the answer without paying £5 for it :bo:
Also, anyone know of any good places for decent ringtones for this phone?

There's a code in there. I think you just type it in.

Have you tried the Samsung fun club?

I heard a rumour it had been shut down. Too many problems with various things.

Ringtones... Believe it or not, www.myt610.net has got some good ones on there. And they're free too!!!!

Or you can use the tones designed for the T100 as well...

thanks guys
sorry Nick, should have read it carefully :ms:
I looked at it before, I just did'nt know we could do that phone yet. Now I'm very very happy :wicked:

The reason being is, funny story really. Well, I say funny, I mean a casulty involving my 5100...
Here's what happened:
Me and Dale were out on a bike ride, and I was riding ahead of him & we were on the road. My 5100 (the casing of which was already loose and could fall off at any time) fell out of my pocket, into a puddle in the road. As it hit the ground, the top part of the case flew off and the phone drowned in the puddle :bo: Then Dale (being Dale) did'nt see it and rode over it, causing more damage.
Basicly, it's dead as a dodo, so I took it to work with my insurance details and it's being sent off for repair as we speak. However, what usually happens when it's that badly damaged is they send the owner vouchers for the equivilent value to buy a new phone with. However, the 5100 is discontinued, so thats why I'm eyeing up the E700 :)
And I only had my 5100 in my pocket as I've started using it as a back up with my pay & go sim card, so thats why I had it on me.
Tho, it gets worse because I put the sim card in my pocket after we rescued the phone to keep it dry, and when I got home it was gone, so I've lost an O2 pay & go sim card with £9 of credit on it! :bo:

And I thought 5100's were indestructible. Obviously not Dale-proof!!!! Or were you on a tandem bike??? :bo: :bo: At least there's not a lot of hills up your way... :devhap:

Run over his T610 next time!!!! :wicked: :wicked:

There's no guarantee it will unlock with that code, but from what I know it won't mess the phone up if you try it & it doesn't work.

O2 sim huh? You did mean me, right? :big smile
I do need one really, if I get an E700 its cheapest on T-Mobile, but I hate their pricing structure (30p flat rate? Er, hello T-Mobile, are you mad?) so I'm better off with O2. Plus then my family will want to phone me again (since I went to Orange, they hang up when I answer, because their contracts are really cheap [old staff tariffs] but they don't have x-net minutes and they don't want to give them up :bo: )
I'm very happy tho, what with the possibility of getting an E700 and all :big smile
Tho, theres always the flip side of the coin.
It goes like this with the insurance, assuming they give me vouchers.
Normally, they give you vouchers to the equivilent value of your phone (the one that broke) for how much it is now, not how much it was back then. If it's discontinued (like mine is) then they find the next nearest phone by that manufacturer & give you vouchers for the equivilent to that. Which is where the problem is, because mines not that unique anymore in terms of the insides, so they could quite easily give me vouchers for a 3100 (£130) because it shares most of the features. OR, best case scenario, they give me vouchers for a 3200 (£200) because it has a flashlight built in, like mine did. Now, if they give me vouchers for a 3100 then I'm going to phone and complain and say that I want vouchers for a 3200 because I did use my flashlight all the time (completley true), so they should have to send me vouchers for that, which will make me happy so I can have an E700. But if I get vouchers for a 3100, then I'll prolly be buying a Sagem MYV-65 or a Moto V500 :bo:
Anyway, I'll stop waffleing now :)

How long will an insurance claim take to sort out then?
i got to admit the torch on the 5100 is excellent i use mine quite a bit too :)

about 2 weeks, which is daft. I can't believe it takes them two weeks to decide if it's worth fixing or not :bo:

2 weeks seems a bit unreasonable to go without a phone :nal:
Do insurance companies still sometimes give a refurbished phone out in insurance claims?
I ask because when i had a orange contract a couple of years back the insurance small print said that on occasions or words to that effect they would sometimes provide a refurbished phone and not a new one!

Daedalus

they do, thats exactly what the woman on the phone told me. They'd either send it back repaired, or send me a refurbished one or a new one they have in stock if it can't be fixed. Last case scenario is vouchers for equivilent value.
They did offer me a loan phone, which all customer of the Link who have insurance with them will get, but I turned it down (my 3210 still works :wicked: ) thinking I could stick it in an old phone, then I go and loose the sim card I managed to save from the wreckage of the 5100 :bo:
Oh well, I'm all set for that now anyway :big smile
