HP is giving away free printers if you join their online design team. This is the offer:

HP is developing a new research panel made up of people in major cities around the world who own and use a camera phone. Everyone who takes a short survey, qualifies, and opts to join the panel will receive a free printer with picture printing capabilities from HP.

The 10 minute qualification survey is definitely worth the time.

Good idea, and I will fill it out for you.

However, it asks me for the IMEI number. Why do you need that?

I think it's to make sure you actually have a camera phone.

Maybe. But would HP have acces to an IMEI database? Wouldn't have thought so.

I am not poo-pooing the idea of the survey, but if it was set up by someone using the HP name as a cover for illicit use, they could steal the IMEI.

I am only asking these questions in my position as a moderator on this forum. I apologise if I am appearing offish, just being cautious, that's all.

I don't think that's the case. I took the survey myself a while ago, and everything's turned out fine. HP sends you the printer pretty quickly, too, they've been really good about it.

Thankyou Ricardo for referring us to that link below - Survey
I filled out but unfortunately with all the cameras and printers I have currently at home, I still did not qualify ...

Is this all a scam to get peoples emails addresses do you think?

I hope not!

Not a scam, HP just wants user input on their printers that communicate with certain types of phones. If anyone has questions about this, feel free to ask.

They've started to allow people from Finland, Denmark, and Norway, and the survey no longer requires you to provide your EMEA number.

So how come the url is not related to HP in any way?
Anybody could have made that website in a matter of minutes, and the only thing linking it to HP is the logo. No hard evidence it's a HP website, in fact very little evidence what so ever.
And has anyone else actually recieved a printer from this place?
