View Full Version : best camera option on nokia
it seems that different nokia phones have different quality camera's in them. But wich models have the better camera's in them? (more pixels, sharpness, possible zoom??)
Best option is to buy a proper digital camera.
The plug in ones that you can get for the Nokia 5100/6100/7210 take reasonably good pictures and the built in ones on the 7250/7250i are about the same.
The 3650/7650/6600 are better though, cos you can download symbian programs to them and they add different things to the camera, like zoom, colour manipulation etc.
But there's no substitute for a proper camera. Have a look at the mobile phone picture thread elsewhere on the forum, that will give you some idea of what to expect.
aah, ok thanks alot for that info, another additional question is:
how about the 6230? couse i am kinda waiting for that phone?
is it comperasant to the better ones you discribed or the decent ones?

it's supposed to be a VGA quality camera, so it's going to be pretty good, but the size of the screen might let it down.
Either way, I'm actually getting pretty excited about this phone, which is the first time I've been excited about a Nokia since I got my 3210 all those years ago (when I was 14). We recently got a dummy-phone (display model) of this phone at work, and I've been looking at it and playing with it and it seems really nice. It's compact, not too heavy, nice simple keys that seem to feel responsive not spongy and it's feature fact. Plus, I think it's really classy looking and very modern. Others may disagree, but I think it's very nice :big smile
I think nokias are highly overrated and they are releasing too many phones that new phones become outdated very quickly. Alot of the nokia phones are pretty much the same but just happen to have a different case or have different games. Thats why I would never buy a nokia phone because I know that it would only be outdated by a newer nokia in a few weeks
I think what has to be the best feature about this is that it will be the true replacement to the 6310i - My Dad has been waiting for an easy to use Nokia with Bluetooth for ages. He recently upgraded to a 6600 but found it too fiddly, so I took it off him and will upgrade in a couple months (hopefully to the 6230) and give that to him. Lets hope it will be a good handset.
everybody who has thinking of buying a 6230 for its memory slot has now fully changed there idea. the T650 will have the same stuff, but bigger better screen and 1.3mega pix cam and the price will be the same. so why buy the 6230? ofcourse it will sell because many people just like nokia, and our to damn stupid to try other brands. you'll see that there much better

bart, your right, but also do you reckon theres a tiny little possibility that you could be wrong for a change :)
Theres no reason why a Nokia can't be good for a change (an extremley rare occurance I know).
The main reason is that the 6230 has been unvailed, rough prices have been given and shipping will start in the next month or so, where as the T630 has only just hit these shores and the T650 is at least another year away and theres not even any exact word from SE yet if it even exists, so you can't really compare the two yet.
Anyway, whats the point of him waiting a year for the T650 if he can get the 6230 in March? As for the memory, yes it's a set back but I'm willing to let it slip. I'm fed up with how incredibly slow my E200 is (despite how all the SPV guru's on other sites are praising how 'amazingly' fast it is compared to the others, which makes me bloody glad I never owned the other SPV's!) and I want to get something in the future that is more compact, MUCH faster and capable of everything my E200 has, if not more, and this looks like the ideal replacement untill I see a T630 :)

*sigh*
theres no really anything wrong with nokias. if ppl like them its there choice, so if someone says they want advice on a NOKIA they want exactly tht an not some fool telling us we are all to stupid to try differnt fones. i have tryed nearly everyfone brand under the sun, and it all down to personal opinion. i have tryed SE, motorola, siemens, sharp, phillips, samsung and nokia. and i like nokia. (so nahnahnahnah nahhhh!)
no ones wrong and noones right. thats what OPINIONS are you fool.
Got to agree, all phones have their own qualities. My favourite brand is the Nokia as they are so easy to use. But i do like the look of the newer motorolas.
i know that other phones may offer more quality, its like windows vs linux.
nokia is just the windows of the phones.
i dunno why but i also just like them, not that i dislike other brands versions, still i do prefer a nokia with no valid reason what so ever.
but when will that 6230 come out?? on the nokia page it sais first quarter of 2004, think it will be all over the world then?

your right binkx, I know what you mean about it being like Windows compared to the others. I don't know when it's coming out, Nokia have been late on their releases in comparison to their dates for a long while now, so I'd expect it to hit shelves in about 2 or 3 months at the most.
I'm hoping to get one for an upgrade in about 6 or 7 months time, when it'll be cheaper :)

Nokia is easy to usem but I don't think it makes quality cameras. Thats my opinion though
