All this apparently kicks off on 23rd February (Monday coming).
'3' were on Watchdog months ago saying that the '3' network were having terrible troubles with people not getting a signal and not being able to use their phones........wonder if they have it sorted now?
I can't post up the forum details but it would appear that they are still having some problems but they are slowly getting there.
The Nokia 7600 is helping them recruit new subscribers, and the special offer of three months half price rental must be doing the same.

We're still selling at least 2 a week, and most people are still impressed by them.
The thing is, everybody is asking quite a lot from 3. Everybody who's winged and whined about their service and about how calls get cut off etc. are the kind of people who know little about why and how mobile technology works. Most customers i've heard from are happy with it because their willing to forgive 3 for the mistakes due to the fact they've set up and entirely new network with new masts all over the country in the space of 2 or so years, which in itself is pretty good going, seeing as it took the other networks twice as long as that when they moved from 1G (analouge) to 2G (digital, what we use now). People have got to learn to be patient with them, they'll deliver eventually.
Anyway, someones been doing their homework, I only found out about this today at work when we got the phones with the pre-pay boxes in stock this morning, but we can't sell them until monday. I reckon this'll sell well with those hundreds of teenage kids who want a feature filled phone but they text like it's a second language more than they talk. I've been asked by loads of people 'is there a tariff that has more texts than minutes, i'd much rather have that' and I always have to say no, but now I can point them at 3 :)
One problem, the A835 is still pretty huge, so how their going to shift them is beyond me. But, £149.99 for a pay as you go phone with two video/still cameras, MP3 player, video player and Bluetooth is pretty good going.

The Motorola A835, A920 and Nokia 7600 are currently FREE with half price line rental for the first 3 months. So you can...
But I believe it's only the A835 that is available on the package detailed in the first post.

We don't even have them for 3's contracts yet! Even Phones 4 U (bleh) beat us to it, Basta*ds :)
The Link has now brought down the price of the Motorola A835 3G pay as you go to £74.99 without trade in or £64.99 with trade in.
I think this is an online offer tho.........but even so half price still cant be bad.

wow, bargin or what?
*J's jaw hits the floor*
And to amend my earlier posts, it turns out that the 7600 is exclusive to Carphone Warehouse, which is why no-one else has them :/
Fantastic offer i thought........had to double check to make sure i hadnt read it wrong, I would deffo like one of those, if i knew someone else on the network.

Superdrug is owned by 3 anyway, so thats the first place you'd find them, not the last as most people might think.
That offer for the motorola A835 from the link is not an online offer only, the NEC is the online offer only for £74.99, I bought mine when I went up to see my dad for a week in bolton.
You are quite right lol
even woolworths are doing it for the lower price now.........seen one the other day and i didnt realise quite how big they were tho.

Yep, it appears to be a fairly static offer, both online and offline in all shops. Still, they are pretty huge, although you can get the Nokia 7600 from The Carphone Warehouse on Pay as you go on '3' for around £180 if you'd rather a way more compact phone.
Well....
In Brighton earlier, a Nokia 7600 (sim free) ex 14 day stock, boxed as you would get if you bought on 3 with charger, USB cable, manuals and Data Suite disk, unlocked and reflashed (enables you to lock signal to either 2g OR 3g), for.......
£135.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sold out though.....

wow, excellent deal. Definetly would have picked one up for that, just a shame its not a Series60 :(
I keep thinking, maybe I should'nt get the 6230 and wait for Nokia to unvail any new models they have planned to be released between now and November (they said last year they were planning some stupid number of new camera phone models to be coming out this year, like 20 or more or something), so I could get a Series60 decent phone rather than settling with a 6230 with the less-powerful Series40 UI.
Oh the possibilities. I do love nokia phones. One thing i dont love is the cost. Anyone know of any decent offers on at the mo?

N-Gage: around £99 at the Orange website (usually) and the Nokia 7600 on 3 is now £149 on pay as you go (easily unlocked here) on 3, and O2 have started offering it for 2G services only, but only on contract, but expect a pay as you go release shortly at the same price.
The N Gage is also on sale in Woolworths for £99.99 but it is on T Mobile but easily unlocked.
What have the last 2 posts got to do with 3 PAYG??????
The NGage doesnt work on 3!

Ummmm not a lot.........
think me and D have been suitably reprimanded.
3 is the worst network ever... first of all there are so many places wher eyou can't get good reception. Secondly ur credit has to be used within 30 days. I wonder if they will ever find a way of having a gsm sim card in a A835.
Daedalus

they wont, because the A835 only has the WCDMA transmitters/recievers and has no support for standard GSM transmitters/recievers etc.
Damn it, im gonna have to get a new phone in the summer, i got a load of work on so i will have bout 150 to spare, wot phone do u think i shud get? I want to go on O2 cos of the free texts every month.
