hi , after i got the v525, i thought its like the nokia 7650. a simple software changed the camera to take videos, and the phone to playback videos. the v600 (advanced version of the v525) does play videos. and it does nothing more (as i can see). so i thought if its possible to make the v525 to play and capture videos........ is it possible

I doubt it. The Java and software on Moto's is daft, it allows for games and probably some very very limited applications, but they'll be from Moto themselves, and I severly doubt they'll make an official video download for it. The 7650 is far easier to develop for because its development language is much more open and easier for programmers to make video software for it. Plus Moto's have'nt been that popular recently (until the new V series was released) so nobody's been making software for it.
But I'm not saying a certain no.

does the software for the v525 and v600 available to D/L? Is it a good idea to replace the software of the phone with v600's software
Different firmware IS out there....
Probably on the Motorola site, but a google search would find it.
Not sure if you can flash V600 firmware to the V525.
V525FW to V525 phone = YES
V600FW to V600 phone = YES
NB Flashing the phone with a different FW would NOT UNLOCK IT!!!!!!

from what I read on www.mot.com the flash is available but stops the camera working
Suggested waiting a few months.
I have a v525 which synchs my outlook cal and contacts bt having no luck moving ringtones or games. I'm connecting via usb and using Motorola phone tools
Any ideas?

don't know to be honest. I've sent stuff from my phone to a friend V600 (very few differences between that and the V500/525) via Bluetooth loads of times, and it recieves most MP3's and Java games. Maybe buying a cheap Bluetooth dongle (around £20 if you look hard enough on the 'net) would solve your problems.
