Orange wind-up charger
We've all done it - been caught with our power cell's pants down. And what's more, 42 per cent of people in the UK have been unable to call for assistance when their car's broken down and 28 per cent have been unable to call for medical assistance because of flat battery on their mobile. But Orange at least has made a unique attempt to dispose of these hassles. Wind-up chargers aren't anything new, but getting them for gratis simply by walking into an Orange shop and asking for one is. But that's exactly what Orange are offering with their wind-up charger. The pocket-sized, self-winding device only offers an extra few minutes of talk time, but enough to get you out of a tight spot. The best thing about it though is that Orange say it's part of a campaign to promote safety, ensuring ordinary folk aren't left without their mobies at inopportune times, so you don't even need an Orange phone to get one - just call into an Orange shop and ask.
