Thanks Daz.
Just tried it and it gave me: Code Error with a big checkmark right next to it. I tried it twice and then I stoped just in case.
What to do now?

Bummer Daz!
I experienced a moment of excitement when I entered the code, nothing happened and then it when back to the screen that says Insert SIM Card.
So Naturally, I inserted the SIM card, turned it on and it gave the message SIM Card not accepted.
Mind you I put a Fido SIM Card which is from Canada and this phone was with T-Mobile in the U.S. Would that be the problem??

It should either say code error or sim resriction off when you enter the code... did it say either? :bo:

It said Not Allowed. Whatever that means :conf:
What does Not Allowed mean?
Do you think we should try my other phone? Which is also the same type of phone, locked and with the same provider and everything, just a different IMEI (IMEI Number 010037/35/888202/5).
What do you think? Thanks for your help on this!

Ok both phones said Not Allowed with a big checkmark next to it. What now? LOL.
Can me trying all these codes that are different perhaps locked the phone further?

Actually I went by what your sticky post said. I went to that link and looked for T-Mobile/Voicestream since I purchased this phone back when T-Mobile was Voicestream.
I bought the phones in the State of Maryland, so which one of these network codes would they belong to then?

This is strange ... it should either be 31026 or 31020 which i have give you both.. tmobile is tricky...
With it saying not allowed the only thing i can think is that someone has tried to enter codes in to the handset before as you only get 5 tries at it
then it`s a cable unlock after that
would this be the case do you think ??

I highly doubt it Daz. They have been sitting in my drawer for a long time. I have an unlocked 6310i that I use, but this is a replacement phone that I just kept as spare and now my sister's phone has broke and so I ventured looking online for a way to do this and your site came up in my search.
The cell phone companies here are outrageous. They want to charge over $150 for a phone and it is locked to their own network. I personally do not believe in that at all, which is why I purchased an unlocked one from a friend of my in the states.
Ok, so Not allowed would mean locked for good then yes? Yikes!
Cable? would probably run me around $50 here I dunno.. Is there a way to find out if it is locked or Not Allowed is the default sorry your 5 times are up! LOL.
Thanks Daz you rule for spending all this time with me on this..dunno what to do now though..

There is no way of finding out if you have went over the five attemppts, but the not allowed is usual a sign of this

Thanks Daz,
Quick question. I believe I can get the cable from someone. But they do not have the software. Is it possible to get it on the net? Do I need it in order to unlock my phones now?
:)

The software to unlock can be obtained free of the net

Ok sorry I forgot to mention. What about the Nokia Data Suite 3.0 that originally comes with it? Do I need it in order to use the cable with my computer? I am running XP.
Thanks again :)

The software used to unlock is Nokia Tools, Rolis etc ...
If your unsure about the cable post a link to where you are buying it from, and which ever one of us is online will check it to make sure it is correct :)

Well, I went ahead and bought it since I won the bid. So I hope it is the right cable and I don't require the Data Suite 3.0 software to unlock it ....
