Go too
http://www.o2.co.uk/productsservices/ota2/input2/0,,181,00.html
and follow the instructions on the o2 active bit to get the settings downloaded to your phone.

go to O2's website, click on O2 Active, then Get Settings, and choose the O2 Active part, not the GPRS or Basic WAP. Then, when it asks for your phone, I think the nearest kind would be the Nokia 7250i or any of the other Series40 Nokia's.
Then, after entering your number click submit, then when you recieve the settings, save them and choose to activate them (when it asks). Then hit submit again at the bottom of the screen and you'll get a second lot of settings sent to you. Do the same as the first one, and then your ready to go with your O2 sim card.

Your best bet at getting this to work is to enter the settings manually,

O2 WAP settings (GPRS):

Homepage: http://wap.o2.co.uk/
APN address : payandgo.o2.co.uk
Gateway (IP) address : 193.113.200.195
Username : payandgo
Password: password
Session type: Continuous / permanent
Port number: 9201
Authentication: Normal

(This is for PAYG) contract settings are different!!

is your o2 sim sending and receiving calls in the 7600?

Unless you have had the secret menu`s unlocked you must be having signal problems, jumping fromk 2g to 3g?
