3G sims

Was having a look on ebay earlier and noticed how many people are selling 3 sims, and what is confusing me is why do people buy them?

3G sims dont work properly in a 2G phone, or they may for a while, but then 3 will contact you to tell you and block your sim.

Secondly 3 do not sell sims on their own so where are people getting them from to sell on ebay?

I have been looking for this info most of the day on the internet, and the points that i have posted appear on many forums.

Apparently 3 can block the IMEI number of your phone from using their simcard.

And they also run on a different voltage to a normal 2g sim.

seen the going for £17 on ebay....why i dont know...except if you already own a 3G phone.

Its an easy £17 for someone but doesn't look to good if you are the buyer. :(
