Can someone help me out with this please (D especially)?
Have just seen the above phone on offer at the Link, here are some details...

- 500 anytime any network minutes per month
- First months 3G content Free worth £10
and wondered if anyone has one of these or knows anything about them?
I am really tempted by this even tho it is a contract. Or if not is there another really good phone on the '3' network that anyone can recommend? i really love the network and am thinking of upgrading to a smaller handset even tho there is nothing wrong with mine. Because its a contract i dont want to end up making an expensive mistake, sp your opinions would be good please?
Its a smart little phone and the contract details you mentioned look pretty good too.
But....
I found these snippets on a 3g site...
I originally voyed that I was very happy with the phone however I am now on my second handset after the first one powered down and wouldn't come back up. Now this second handset keeps re-initialising tonight and cannot lock on to any 3 signal even in Edinburgh city centre. Called 3CS tonight and they denied all knowledge of my previous call yesterday where I was informed there was network work ongoing this weekend! Who do we believe? Looks like a trip back to the shop for possibly a third handset or to ditch the whole thing until a decent phone/network is available.
Would you please all report this to 3 Customer Service so that they realise there may be a signal problem with the LG8110. They may then get a software release issued to fix the fact that it doesn't seem to lock on to a 3 signal very well.
But the general consensus was that the phone is a good 'un. So you should be ok with it.
Theres a review of the phone in this months What Mobile? magazine....
Get yourself dowm to WH Smiths and have a look at it.
I went into the phone shop in Brighton today and had a play about with one of these..... purely for research purposes of course!
If the 3g signal was better (ie existed) where I live and I was looking for another phone/or it was out on PAYG for about £150, then I would have one of these, it reminds me of the T100 I used to have. In fact the keypad layout reminded me of the Samsung V200.
Picture quality with the cam was pretty good too, but looking at the pics you took with your 313 I am not sure that its on a par with that.
But deffo smaller.
Thanks Nick, i will go to Cardiff in the week and have a really good play around with one. I just dont want to end up with a phone that i dont like and be tied up for a year with it.
My NEC E313 has a pretty good '3' signal, so would it follow that i would get the same signal from another model?
You should still get the same signal strength as you do now. It may differ in the amount of bars that show on the signal indicator on your phone though. My T630 indicator goes up and down where the Nokia I have shows a constant amount of bars. But calls never drop.
Had a look today and decided it wasnt for me......seemed a nice phone but cant put my finger on why i didnt get it but i am going to stick with the one i already have, i am getting on with mine so well i didnt see the point really.
