area codes on screen are annoying

i have recently bought a samsung v200. can anybody tell me how to remove the roaming area codes from my screen, to allow my wallpaper to be seen clearly. i have successfully removed the o2 logo but cant clear the codes.
secondly does anybody know any cheats or tricks for the phone to allow java or video on the phone, is it possible? i have read several reports on other forums conflicting each other on this topic.

if a phone does'nt have Java, theres no way of 'tricking' it into thinking it does, that'd be daft. As a result, theres no way of making it play video's either, as a Java would be needed for a video player.

As for the area code, by default it should be off, but if not, read the manual or flick through the settings. It's often called Cell Info display on Nokia phones, so it might be similar in this case.
