Dont think the Sagem can be remotely unlocked..........try taking it to a mobile phone shop, not the link or somewhere similar, the phone is down to £59.99 at the link and Argos, a good price for that model.

thats where im going i went into the link today
the offer of 49.99 trade in/59.99 is only on untill monday so if any 1 is after 1 of these now is the time it seems

does any 1 have any views of these phones??

I had one and i thought it was excellent (it was £99.99 when i had mine) the picture qualty was pretty good, the only thing i found was if you took a pic outside on the highest res the pic would come out pretty big and would not be able to send via MMS because at the time Voda had a limit of 50 KB on its MMS...........i read on another forum that they have since changed this so you may get away with it.

For the price it has now fallen for i would recommend it highly.......am now thinking about getting another, as my current phone is much bigger.

Voda had a limit of 50 KB on its MMS

I think it has changed as you say - I remember reading it was now 35KB in a Sharp GX30 review!!!!!

I've got the MyX-7, the near identical brother to the V65 (appart from more memory and video features), and I can safely say its a very nice to phone to use, packed full of features with an excellent camera for a ridiculasly low price, so I'd say that its one of the best cheap camera phones on the market by a mile.

Now, the unlocking, I enquired about this for my phone and it turns out while there seems to be a section of the phone where you can enter the info to have it unlocked, the software either does'nt exist yet or it simply cant be done at all. Possibly in the future, but certainly not yet. However, the only real way it can be unlocked is by using a cable. Now that'll set your back around £20 (possibly cheaper on ebay but they might not work) and then you've got to find the software, which is far more tricky to get hold of/actually use than the Nokia unlocking software that we use. Even I was a bit confused by it.
So, unless you want to spend the extra £20 or so then it cant be done. As for getting a shop to do it, not only do very very few high street shops do unlocking(around 10% or so at the most of phone shops), but the chances of them doing a Sagem (still not yet considered a main stream phone) are even slimmer, but worth a look anyway.
Just to save you time though, The Link, The Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4 U (urgh) DO NOT do unlocking, and neither do similar stores such as Dixons etc. Your looking for one-off stores that are not part of a chain that are independant (i.e. not seen in other towns, just one shop in that town etc).

The name Sagem used to put me off but not anymore......have my eye on the model D has altho i cant decide, i think D's looks nicer than the MYV-65 but other than the video cam i dont think there is much in it.

theres more memory, which even now I wish there was more of. I find if I put too many ringtones/pictures/games/videos on there it fills up the memory really quickly, and it affects its general operation, making it very slow to respond to things, so periodicly I have to keep deleting all my files, though I back most of them up by IrDA first (hides from bunny) :)

No comment to the IRDA.

Was going to ask you D how much memory is in yours? opposed to the MYV-65? and also for the diff of £20 is it worth settling for the MYV-65? because i really do fancy your model.

To put it simply, theres not enough to make it worth the £20, unless you like having more than 5 hi-fi ringtones, around 40-50 hi-res pics (i think, lost count really) and a couple of small videos, plus a couple of games.
As for the design, I actually really prefer the MyV-65/75 cases to the X7's case, simply because the buttons are nice and evenly spaced as well as being easier to use, where as if you've ever used an X7 for texting (as I do all the time), you'll find yourself using the tips of your fingers rather than the more natural position because of the fact that the keys are so damm close together that for the first week you'll always be making mistakes.
Tell you what, you get a a V65 and we'll swap cases in the post ;)

I got one D :sot: i bought the MYX -7 and what a nice little phone!
I was reading reviews earlier and the only complaint i found was the size of the keys, but to me thats not a prob as i have small fingers and the keys are about twice the size as my NEC.

I have tried to send a pic via MMS but apparently its not been enabled yet, it takes up to 24 hours or so i have been told.

Going to try the IRDA again tonight......only thing is lol
Bunny + IRDA = Nick legging it........still i got 30MMS to try.

I cant wait for the battery to be charges as i want to fiddle with it, but i am really surprised at what a nice phone it is :ld:

£10 eh? Hmm, where'd you get that done, because I'd quite happily pay that now to have mine done (data cable would cost as much on its own).
