Air Tattoo 2004

I'm off to RAF Fairford tomorrow for the annual Air Tattoo....no I'm not an anorak I like loud fast things :) http://www.airtattoo.com/

no im not........http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/sad/1/sad05.gif always wanted to go to an airshow tho, sometimes the jets pass over this way on their way to St.Athens and i think they are brill i could watch them for hours if i could.......keep promising to go but as of yet not got round to it, i will oneday tho.

They have an airshow at the local airport down here... obviously not on the same scale that they do at Fairford but its very interesting. MAilnly the older planes.

I have been to the other big one they have at Farnborough before (well watched it from my cousins house, he lived very close to the airfield) and that was well good.

I am like Bunny, I could sit there for ages watching the planes.....which is why I had my lunch break today at the end of the runway at Gatwick Airport......counting Easyjet jets. :suprise:

I'm the same I don't know what it is about planes...I can just watch them for hours...maybe because there so big and look really weird being able to stay up there :)

I would absolutely love to have a go in a harrier jump jet....what an experience that would be........when they had coverage of the gulf war i would watch the tv just to see the B52's taking off, what a sight.

when I was with the Air Cadets I flew in a Sea King a handfull of times, but other than that it was boring to me, the planes were ok but not really my thing.

Its not boring....

I remember once I stopped at the side of the road by the end of the runway at Heathrow Airport and Concorde was taking off. The sight of it taking off and the noise..... makes Bunny appear quiet.

I'll admit I was pretty lucky to do it, and for free especailly. I went up in one like 3 or 4 times in the year I was there (left because I'd been there longest out of all the new recruits and they went and promoted 3 girls who'd been there a few weeks to Corporals!) and each time they left the side door open and they flew over my village so we could see our houses from the sky, was pretty cool :)
And once, the pilot dropped it by like 50 or so feet really sharply, like it was falling out of the sky, just to scare us. It really scared the cr*p out of me!

Well I had a great day....and I'm bloody tired.....the Stealth plane was excellent as well as all the fighter and fly by wire jets...my ear drums are burst and I'm sunburnt :)

but still a great day :) hope you've all been keping a look out for the Karate Kid ;)

I took a video camera so I will get some stills from it...
