View Full Version : samsung n500
ive just got a n500 phone to replace by creaky, broken samsung r210-s model and keep getting text messages saying 'incompatible message format'? whats going on - can anyone help?
Can you get someone you know to send you a text mesage and see if that works. Two reasos I can think of one its a scam and the messages aren't real virus type things or two they could be MMS messages etc that your phone can not receive.
thanks - i tried that but had the same problem again . Seems that the n500 cant accept long messages? they are real messages sent by a another samsung (a300) albeit written over a couple of pages. if i put the sim card into my older r210s phone they come up fine but otherwise i just get an 'incompatible message format' error. This isnt really helpful though as I will be passing on my old phone to someone else - now im worried that i should pass the new one instead! I dont want to do that! has anyone else had this problem with long messages?
This does ring a bell, how long are the messages a lot bigger than a standard one, most phones usually split the messages over two rather than killing them.
No they are only slightly longer than the usual ones - ie about 180 characters. Theres plenty of 'space/memory' on my phone too - I have cleared all other messages out so it isnt a problem with memory.
Im beginning to come to the conclusion that im stuck with it! Not particularly happy about it though..
