As you all know I had a Samsung SGH-620 last week.

I sold it and got this Nokia 6610.

Ok let's do this again:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Positives:

- Tri-band world phone - works in three networks on five continents

- High-resolution, passive matrix color display / Supports 4096 colors within 128 x 128 pixels
- X-Press on Covers (I love this, since if the phone ever gets scratched or in a bad condition, simply changing the cover would make it look as a new phone

- Java Enabled applications / Games

- GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) / HSCSD (High-Speed
Circuit-Switched Data)

- Integrated stereo FM radio (Very good quality if you are in an area with good coverage) [20 channels to save]

- Handsfree speaker (You can also play the radio through the speaker, it is very loud so everyone can hear.

- Customizable and timed profiles

- Polyphonic ringtones (support for 40 instruments, but can only play 4 simlutaneously at a time )

- Lots of space for ringtones, all 20 spaces are free to delete/download ringtones to them.

- IR port

- Sporting Nokia's new Pop-port for a wider array of functions/upgradibility

- Very good battery life. 3-5 hour talk time/ upto 300 hours of standby. (includes a fast charger that charges the battery from 0 to 100 in 90 minutes)

- Very useful "Converter", which converts almost anything to anything, you name it, temps, weight, pressure, currencies, time, volume, etc. VERY precise too.

- Very responsive in T9 mode, words can be added to the dictionary, good keypad, firm and responsive keys.

- The ability to add many numbers to one name, and classify them with icons as home, mobile, shop, etc, and add details like emails, websites, notes, etc... is very good. And makes your phonebook look much neater.

- Concatenated SMS, send and receive up to 3 messages, (459) 160+146+153 characters long, in Unicode 70+63+63 per message

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Negatives:

- No Bluetooth (Why the heck not? this is an expensive phone and from Nokia's top of the line models) :wtf:

- Only supports 4 instruments to be played at the same time for the polyphonic tones. The Samsung SGH-N620 DEFINATELY sounds way better when it comes to ringing tones.

- Sound volume of the ringtones is not low. But it is no where the high/crisp volume of the Samsung SGH-N620

- No melody composer on phone. Cannot send tones as MMS messages.

- IR is useless, you can only send freakin' business cards (but this is on all Nokia phones) The real use of the IR port would be for connection to PC to access internet or to install apps/tones.

- VERY bad games out of the box. Chess & Bounce. Both are totally stupid. I would've preferred a basic Snake game instead of these 2. Thank god you can install many good Java games which are available online (free ones are out there too and they're easy to find) :x

- No voice dials, voice memos, or any voice crap. (WTF is up with Nokia, they just don't seem like they wanna make the perfect phone, they add features but remove others which are basics on ALL phones on the market right now.

This phone is a 50-50 hit, you might like it, or you might not...it depends on if the positives overcome the negatives for you. Personally, I love the interface, the reception, and especially the batterylife which is amazing. This phone is useless really without the data cable or IR port, but with them it can be updated to be a killer phone. 8)

Price that I bought it for: $271 USD

I think its a all round good phone mate. What i find funny is that the nokia 7210 is the same software installed on the phone.

bill, it's the same phone, exactly in every way, just has a different cover on it.
