Ok, my 5100 is about 5 months old now, and I intend to keep it for a while longer, but it's my birthday soon (well, late November, but I like to plan ahead ;) ) and seeing as I'll be 18, i'm going to get my own contract. I prolly wont get it until later in that month, maybe December, maybe even early next year instead. But either way, I can't seem to find the ideal phone for me anywhere.
here's a list of everything it MUST have (i've also numbered each one, 1 being something I could prolly live without, 10 being something I'd DEFINETLY need):

at LEAST 16 note polyphonic ringtones, prefably voice tones (.wav etc) - 9
MP3 player - 9
Colour Display with 65,000 colours or more (prefably NOT an STN screen, i've had enough trouble with them already...) - 10
Java - 7
MMS - 8
Non-flip design - 10
Infrared and/or bluetooth - 9
GPRS - 7
Built-In camera - 10 (11 if i could put 11 out of 10 :) )
A good range of customization and accessories (so not like the Panasonic range, with their imopssible to find ringtones and so forth) - 7
Fast menus - 9
Easy to use - 8
Quick access to main featues such as mp3 player and camera - 7

The ability to use my own headphones would be nice, but not essential. Same goes for built-in flash light and compact design.

I know it seems like a phone that does'nt even exist, but that's what I'm really looking for in a phone. :)

Hello mate you don't need much on your new phone do you :)

How about the Siemens SX1 thats due out around November etc....has SmartPhone tech so all the tones etc.. will be .wav, MP3, camera/video camera, nice screen etc.....

Thats the one I'm waiting for can't wait to get rid of my T100........

lol :)

thanks mate. i had a look at it, but I'm not too sure about the key layout to be honest. Other than that it's my perfect phone, which is why I was looking at it's prettier sister (heh) the Nokia 6600, their both built on the same thing, but the 6600 has the easier to use key layout.

But I bet it won't be cheap to get on contract unless you have a well expensive monthly tariff. I remember looking at the Samsung V200, the only way I could have got one was with a £46 a month tariff with T-Mobile.

Reckon on a normal monthly tariff (£30 a month max.) you'd be looking at at least £150 if not more!!. Is it worth it just for that??

i'd say so. if it's the perfect phone it'd last me a while. and when i come to sell it, it'll be worth more than what i bought it for anyway. Like my T100, i bought it for £49.99 on contract and sold it 9 months later for £140 :) :wicked:

Is that allowed?? Selling your phone if it's on a contract? Wouldn't it get blocked or blacklisted??

If it is allowed, I might think of selling my 6100 and get another phone. I quite fancy a T610 or GX10i.. I unlocked it the day I got it so could sell it as sim-free..

well, it's allowed if you've been in the contract for over 12 months and then ended it, because then it's just your phone, so you can do what the hell you want with it :)
But....Don't tell O2, but I did pull a fast one by selling my T100 3 months early, and I've still got the contract going now :bo:
So sush, no telling :)
But, i intend to end the contract within the next 3 or 4 months, so heres hoping they dont notice :)
