View Full Version : NEC E228 all networks unlock?

As my mom has just got one i wondered if its possible to fully unlock it? I know the code works only for one sim at a time but would a cable unlock or 3 them selves unlocking it allow all the networks at anytime?

either take it into an independant mobile shop to see if they can unlock it for you (they charge £15 in my local shop for a nokia) or phone up three themselves and ask them.

I really cant understand why people would buy a 3 phone tho and get it unlocked?

Mom just liked the phone and wants to go back to vodafone when she uses the credit up. She doesnt use her phone enough for 3 to be worthwhile. e.g. £25 of credit has lasted over a year :) :) :)

i think what mike meant tho nick was can the nec's be unlocked for good without having to re enter a code if you want to change the sim?

I know we cant do that here but is it able to be done at a shop or from 3 themselves? thats why i suggest he contact 3?

If your mum's not going to change her sim card or really turn the phone off then putting the code in once should be enough, just if she turns it off and on again give her the code on a piece of paper, maybe get her to put it under the battery cover or something :)

Good idea D. Will she be able to MMS on another network or should i get a data cable for it? As it doesnt look very easy to alter the setting for MMS.Not that she'd do that very often anyway :)

Would you be able to use mms via voda tho without having it reflashed cos 3 dont use the normal wap they have what is called a walled garden which means you cant access normal sites, only the sites which they allow, so i dont know if this would affect your mms.

The cables for the nec e313 when i asked from the '3' store were £30 so i dont know if you could get one off ebay?
