Make sure you have installed the correct driver for your OS first.

Then activate the IR recepetion on your phone and place it face to face with your IR port. You should see an icon in the taskbar telling you that there is an active IR connection. When you see that. There is no reason on earth it shouldn't work!

I am using an MA-620 USB IR Adapter along with a Nokia 6610 on Windows XP Pro. Works like a charm!

If you have XP, you shouldn't need to install a driver, as XP should pick it up.

Yes there bloody is! Dont be so pig headed, read the other post in the other forum for reasons as to why your theory is completely wrong.

No arguing, :hammer: :fire: Lets work together on this. :shout:

Some phones work 100% with the IR, others don't. The ones that don't work 100% may have a slight glitch with the software loaded to the phone. Or it could be either the O/S or other device drivers on the PC that are causing the problems.

The MA-620 has been proven to work 100% with the IR on the phones according to MaXimus' post and others on other forums. It's the non MA-620's that have the problems. To be honest, for half the price there's bound to be hiccups (£40-ish for the MA-620 and £20-ish for the others). Read the thread in Mobile Phone Chat!!

By changing the settings on mine to the ones in the thread, I greatly improved the connection.

I found that when using Nokia Suite it sometimes took a couple of goes to get the wallpapers/pictures onto the phone :pissed: and ALSO that the phone would only accept GIF & JPEG format pics.

The Nokia Series 40 phones (the 7250i is one) can only play 4 chords in its ringtones :( (unlike Kruger's whizz bang T100 which plays 16).:wicked:

the T610 is one of the best phones out at the moment, it beats the others hands down. well, until the Siemens SX1 and the Nokia 6600 come out :)

yo, where is the ir port on the nokia 5100, is it the 2 leds on top that also act as a light?

lol, no, thats the flashlight.
the IR port is the gap in the stripe design on the side of the phone, if you look on the left side there are three white stripes coming from the keys, and on the right there is a gap in the black bits that also shows white. thats it.
do people not read manuals anymore?
