Who prefers a phone without a built-in camera?
i dont think anyone 'needs' a camera but it seems these days cameras are standard no matter what the quality on most mobiles.
I was shopping with my ten year old daughter who had saved her money for a mobile and she didnt want a camera, but without them there isnt that much choice it seems.
If you get a half decent camera tho i think they are nice to have.
I've got a nice digital camera so i don't need a phone one and if i need a picture ...
Digital Camera -> Photoshop -> N-gage ;)
I'm selling my nokia 7610 on ebay, because although its got plenty features, the only things I need to do, and do well, are phone and text! And both these functions on the 7610 produce too much lag (delay after key press). Now ive got a 3510i - which does its job to perfection!
yeah i know what you mean i got a phone with a camera becuase i thought it would be good when im out in the eve but i always forget its there :whacky:
I seriosuly think Cameras are realyl helpful for me. I don't have a digital cam, and my fone doesnt have Infrared or Bluetooth so I need a cab;e for my phone so i can connect it to my computer, but I save all my pics on my cell, and I have a god plenty. Its way just you use it when u really don't need it but it just never dies out!!.

Hey Ammora if you have any pics from your phone it would be good to see some quality in the Phot Post forums, if you start a new posts following the standard in that forum it would be very helpful.
Hey Krug3r
I can't, I still need to buy a cable that connects my Cell Phone to the Computer. I will post pictures as soon as I get the cable. I cannot find it anywhere near where I live, so I will most probably buy it from the net.

i dont use my camera on my phone much anymore.....mainly because its useless :(
I wouldn't thank you for a phone with a camera. I have a digital camera and I don't think having a camera built into a mobile phone would be much more than a gimmick. However I wouldn't mind having perhaps an MP3 player built into a phone. A lot of people carry personal CD players or MP3, i-pods etc.. and a mobile phone. It sounds a goodidea to combine a music player and a phone. I don't know a lot of people that carry cameras all the time with them (unless on holiday).
Maybe it just takes some getting used to.

Well you might need it sometimes. If you go on a trip and forget ur cam u have soemthing. It is true an MP3 player would be great, but it's kinda like a backup cam. For fun. and Anywayz G3 cell phones are gonna be using cameras so u can see the peson ur talkin to.
Well thats wat i think.
Another thought...The more features on an item.. the more expensive they tend to be and if one part of that item goes faulty are you going to replace the whole item?
For example, take a combined video and TV. Videos generally go faulty beyond repair long before a TV. So when the video goes faulty you have to replace the combined unit.
Another point.. the majority of people only use a fraction of the features on products. Most people just want to use an item for the basics (i.e. a phone is for communicating).

amoora, I respect your point of view. However the cost of purchasing a phone with a poor quality built in camera doesn't appeal to me. I agree some people may want such a facility and it is only right that the market supports such demands, as long as they continue to support people who just want the basics. After all we are very much a disposable economy. A phone may not just be for Christmas but are you going to be using the same model in 5 years time? Why spend a fortune?
A mobile is for phoning, and occasional texting. Cameras are a pointless gimmick, designed to make more money for the virgins, t-mobiles etc of this world. Give me a basic, no nonsense mobile any day of the week

I use a Nokia 6310i for business & had a Car Kit installed in my car. I've since changed car and fitted a new car kit and got a Nokia 6230. The 6230 is brilliant, but I'd rather have the same phone minus the camera, games, screensavers etc. They just slow the phone down!!! :)
i really prefer phones without camera , because the consumption of battery , the battery fly´s away with the camera ......
But surely u enjoy takin pics of stuff. It comes in especially handy when u want a pic and havent taken ur camera out wiv u.

The cam uses no extra battery than sending a text message, its the WAP and MP3 players that drain it.
