It's a rip off.

They operate a walled garden, won't let you access any other email accounts and charge you for using their own.

i dont think it is a rip off but i know lots of people who do.

People are aware of this before they buy the handsets, people want it all, unbelievably low priced quality handsets and good tariffs yet they complain about small thingslike no wap access, which half the time i doubt that they would use anyway.

most operators charge for their wap not just 3;)

I emailed 3 a few days ago to ask them if the email being charged for would affect contract customers and they rang me back this morning asking me where i had heard such a thing?

I directed them to the link on their website and was told that they wernt aware of a link saying email was becoming chargeable, the operator went to find out more details for me as it was the first that he'd heard of it but couldnt find any details anywhere so they are going to find out and ring me back, so i will post it up here when i hear anything.

It's a shame that they dont offer an inclusive MMS package like the other networks do.

I know on 3pay you get a cash allowance when you topup, but on the £25 one you only get £1.50 which is enough for 6 mms messages.

i hate to say it but the prices on 3 seem to be slowly creeping up. Firstly it was 3pay which went from 100 mins for £15 to 50 and now the email, saying that the deal i have is fantastic but for people on 3 pay its not much better pricewise than any other network.

I think the main difference between 3 and the other networks is that all the inclusive minutes are all x-net ones.

I guess its like most things, they start off cheap and gradually increase, and they hope you won't notice. On your tariff it wont really affect you except for the emails, and on my 3pay I wouldnt really notice...
