I have a 6600, before Christmas my phone really slowed down, so i turned it off then back on, since then it has been asking me for a password to access my memory card even thoughi havnt put a password on it. Has any1 else had this problem, and does anyone know how to unlock it?? PLEASE HELP!!!
Sounds to me like the memory card needs formatting. Maybe there is a corrupt file on there that needs deleting.
Have you got a card reader? If you have then put the card in that and delete all the files off of the card and them RE-FORMAT it. Then it should be OK.
If you haven't got a card reader you can still reformat it using your phone.

thanx for your help, i dont have a card reader tho, how do i format it on my phone without it asking for a code?
Not having a 6600 I don't know exactly how you do it, but it would say in the Nokia manual what to do.

if i reset my phone with the memory card in it, will this reset it? I cant format the card without unlocking it. This has really bugged me as i havnt put a code on it & the people at nokia are hopeless. Thanx for your help though, this is the most help iv had.
Try one of these code.. *7370* of *#7370#. Its a hard reset and might sort things for you.

if u mean putting it in as the memory card code then it doesnt do anything. Sorry, but am new to this
no a reset code is used to restore your phone to the 'new' condition.....and stop saying sorry lol its not a prob :)
just type in the code and it should say DO YOU WANT TO RESET YOUR PHONE (or words to that effect). Say yes and your phone will shut down.. don't worry it will restart.

dun that, but its now askin 4 a lock code but havnt put 1 on there either. Im gonna be bald by the time the nights out
Its not a lock code, its a security code to prevent you resetting the phone by accident.
Try 0000 or 12345, it's normally one of those two. If I remember rightly they are the same codes as the ones that I had on my Nokia 3650.

yep, dun that, i'm now waitin. Fingers crossed. nope, still askin 4 memory card password. I bet i downloaded sumthin that had a virus
i think it would be highly unlikely that you have caught yourself a virus, are you sure the memory card didnt come with a security code?
Still asking for a code? Someone has password protected your memory card mate.
Dunno what else to suggest, try 0000 or 1234. TBH it could be anything. Memory cards don't normally have a code on them.

i really dont know, nobody at orange or nokia knows, i havnt got a clue
is it a memory card that came with teh phone or did you buy it yourself? maybe it could be faulty?
Only thing I can suggest is to take the phone into an Orange phone shop and ask them to have a look at it. Or if they still can't help you, take it to a shop that does unlocking and maybe they can help you, they have lots of 'boxes of tricks' and may have one that can remove the password code.
Or lob that memory card and buy another one.

it came with the phone, it was working fine til a couple of weeks ago, i have downloaded afew ringtones & games that were untrusted off a website, maybe i downloaded a virus or sumthing off of there?
Untrusted or 'cracked'? If they were the latter then maybe you have downloaded something unsavoury thats corrupted the card.
Dump it and get another one thats my advice then.

dont know if they were cracked, when i downloaded them it just said that they were untrusted
when you put them on the phone you mean? i used to have that a lot when i had an ngage.
