yesterday i had my fourth 3 bill in, and boy did it go thud, i hadnt gone over my allocated mins so i decided i would phone the 3 cs up and see if they could explain it, well they did and what i found out has really cheesed me off......its my fault so i cant complain but unbeknown to me who assumed all calls are free i have been charged for the 0875, 0870, 0845 etc numbers that i have been calling!!

What i want to know is why if 3 can give you cross network mins for free why local rate numbers are chargeable?

Thought id post this to let you all know about this (you prob already know and its just me who didnt read the call charges when i ordered over the phone).

Its not just 3 that charge for these, when I was on Orange and O2 they charged me for them, as I think all the networks do. Whenever I tell customers they get the free minutes anytime anynetwork I always tell them in the same breath that it does'nt include premium rate numbers and the like. Its because these numbers have their own chargable rates above and beyond what the networks (BT Landlines included) can charge for using the line.

i know what you are saying D but the numbers i have been charged for are lo cost numbers, companies who subsidise their calls making them cheaper for the customer to ring...at least i know now :)

Must look at my paperwork later on..I thought all those numbers were included in the monthly call allowance too.

I am more worried about the first months FREE content..

i was unsure about this so i have to admit i didnt use it, because i ordered over the telephone i didnt get the chance to ask all the stuff i normally ask.....they sent me some paperwork but i dont remember it mentioning what numbers were or were not included.

these numbers used to be included in threes free mins, and has just stopped about a month or so ago... i think the reason being you can call numbers (0845) that offer cheap calls to the likes of america, thats what i read anyways;)

If you have to send it back, send it by RECORDED.

So then they can't say they never received it.

If you think yours goes thud then think of me when you next get your bill. Each month the company bill is about a ream of double sided paper. It doesn't fit in an envelope it comes in a box! Ok, so at least I don't have to pay for it! I can and do get the bill on a CD but it doesn’t give a clear break down the International texts and calls. Arggggggg  This means I have to go through the whole bill instead of using the search bit on the CD. It’s such a waste of paper! I think this must be my favourite job!

I had to hassle them this morning. I was debited my first months rental the other day but never received a paper bill for it. Normally that wouldn't worry me but I need it for the cashback through The Link.

So I phoned CS and was told that they were due to process my bill for the 4th month (eh? Only had the phone since 20th December) and that the only bill posted was sent on the 21st December.. well it never turned up.

I will receive a copy in the post as a matter of urgency, but will that be OK for the cashback?

i had to send the first two pages of my fourth bill back thats all, they didnt want bill one, two or three.....but that was through CPW so i dont know about the link....will be glad to see the back of '3', altho saying that i am using most of my mins but only because i have them.

On another forum everybody is moaning about the charges for the 08.... numbers and a lot of people it appears are threatening to cancel their contract over it.

Can 3 do this tho? its bad enough that despite being reassured that the email would always be free for people on contract that is being charged for now and now the 08 numbers too.

When I phoned them earlier, I went through the 'Press 1 for this, press 2 for that' I heard 'Our e-mail promotion ended on..' and that was it, no date or anything!!!!

Its a case of GET THEM ON BOARD THEN SHAFT THEM (excuse the language please...).

you are so right nick.....they seem to tempt people with these fantastic deals and promises and then once you are signed up they then change the rules or make new ones up as they go along.

When i phoned cs to find out what the extra charges were i was polite on the phone but the fella started saying read your contract, (which doesnt mention the info i need....last time i sign up to a contract online) he ended up getting his knickers in a right twist lol.

All I know about the cashback is you need to send of the bills they request on the cashback form. Other than that I have no idea, I don't deal with that area, its something head office does not us.

Also, found out the other day that (apparently, I think..) Orange at one point was the ONLY provider to offer 0800 numbers for free, and now they just include it in your minutes. I THINK their still the ONLY contract company to do this. Don't hold me to that tho.

All my contract says is the monthly allowance and the monthly rental - I think, I only glanced at it before it went in the drawer under my bed.
