View Full Version : 3....big moan this time
I am mad with '3' ......i cannot get my 7600 to connect to my pc, not their fault i know but when i signed up for 3 i was told the emails would never be chargeable........that turned out to be wrong info :nervous:
I phoned 3 up tonight to see how much MMS would cost and was told 25p per message.........BUT i asked did it matter how big the mms is because i know for a fact with orange that anything over 50kb is charged at the highest rate of 50p per message, when i asked 3 this no one can answer me!!!!!! this has made me mad now because the only way of finding out is to wait for my next bill (just missed thia months cut off so will have to wait ages)
I then asked did 3 offer any mms add ons and was offered a video messaging bundle which is not quite the same.
Why can 3 not have the info to hand when you call? its nothing technical just plain tariff info.........and why are they allowed to change the conditions of the contract without even giving you any sort of notice?
Apart from these factors i actually am happy with 3 but because of this when my contract is up i will deffo not be renewing it.

Seems like a lot of people have this problem, yet others have none at all. Can't understand why this is.

I think there is a limit to the size of the file that can be sent by MMS.. I vaguely remember that it's set on the phone (I think mine is set at 50KB, will check before the phone goes back).

And as there's no way to check that online ('MY3' only shows unused calling minutes and unused SMS) you could run up a largte 'extra' bill without realising it.

Don't know anything about this.

I am sure that if ANY contract is changed, notice has to be given in writing of the pending change. When we get our annual rises where I work, we get new amended contracts of employment showing the new wage, and if there are any changes to our hours or job description we get written notice too. Surely ther phone networks should do the same.

Neither will I. Yes they have good tariffs, but as you can see from what Bunny has said they mess the end user about so much they will lose a lot of subscribers when their individual contracts end. And I will be one of them.
Now I have finished doing this post i am off for a coffee.
as far as im aware there is no 50kb limits on mms....the pic i posted in the picture thread was taken on my 7600 and is showing as 95.6 kb on my handset and it sent perfectly and arrived in my inbox immediately so i have no complains there....obviously i cannot blame 3 for my phone not connecting to my pc BUT it was the staff in the 3 point in cardiff and cpw on the phone when i ordered my phone that both told me when and if 3 start charging for their emails that people on contract wont be charged altho people on pay as you go would be charged.
As i said earlier i have no complaints with signal or billing as such just the inability of 3 in general to fail to inform the customer about any pricing changes and general lack of knowledge on the cs side of things.
I remember you saying that about the mails when I first got my 3PAY LG.. that I would pay but you wouldnt.
It's the basic everyday info that people need - but 3 don't seem to be able to supply it as and when required.
when i found out that they were going to start charging for emails i phoned up the cs and they denied it, so i had to point them to the middle of their home page and show them the link....it seems that 3 dont know their @rse from their elbows.

Nicks right, they SHOULD show you any kind of change to your contract.
Orange did for me, they sent a seperate leaflet with my bill entitled 'No one likes change' and explaining a few small changes in the contracts, which were fine, nothing major or even that important, but they told me anyway which is the important thing.
today i rang cs twice to try and get the info i needed.....in the end i managed to find out...i think lol.
3 do not offer any mms add ons just text and video so thats no good, the MMS apparently are 25p per message, regardless of size :)
sending attachment by emails are....
1-10kb ......10p
11..50kb.....25p
51kb.......100kb....50p
and anything over the 100kb is £1
these were the rates i was told so please dont quote me on that :)
The one good thing is that on saturday i got my cashback as promised, but that was through the cpw and not 3 themselves :)
So a typical pic is going to cost 50p to mail.. yet an MMS is 25p!!!!
Least you got your cashback though, I still haven't got my first bill from them - A MONTH LATER!!!!!!!!! SO I don't hold out much hope for getting mine.
The cashback isnt through 3 themselves, though obviously you would need your bills to send away for your cashback!
when i rang the first time i was told yes they did have MMS bundles....20 for £10...and did i want to add them so i said no thanks, then when i phoned back i was told they didnt do MMS bundles but they could sort me out extra texts!!!! i really give up now.

Might be worth a look....
the walled garden never bothered me before, it does now however.....why should i have to pay 3's £3 charges for a ringtone or pic when there are loads of wap enabled sites offering them for nothing......unless 3 knock down this wall i really think they could be in trouble, especially with the competition from voda....3's prices are slowly creeping up to match their competitors and i think they will lose out if they dont pull their socks up.

I think Voda's 3G WAP service is free to browse, like 3's, but is not walled, unlike 3's.

I believe this site has now been shut down..
Because....
2 main reasons. The breaking of copyright on the images such as the 3 logo, the cowboy image and the other graphics 3 use. The 2nd reason is due to the Moan page which allows emails to be sent to one of there main staff Mr Jones and this is aparantly breaking the Communications Misuse Act of 2003
in other words 3 dont want to know that so many people are opposed to the walled garden ;)
