Nokia 3220 ( senior moment)

I think I may be a little stupid but I cannot get my PC to recognise the phone.

I bought a DKU - 5 data cable
I downloaded the drivers or so I think.
I installed PC suite,
connected the cable
It said New Hardware found, cannot complete installation as it cannot find software.

It is driving me mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I played all last evening and most of today.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i had the same trouble with the nokia 7600 and pc suite....see here (http://www.mymob.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4218) , i gave up in the end.
Nick has the same phone as you so he may be able to help.

Simple solution is DON'T USE THE NOKIA PC SUITE!!!!

Uninstall everything that you have already installed, and go to the link in bunny's post. Install the drivers and then connect the phone.

But don't use the Nokia SW, it's riddled with more bugs than an NHS hospital. I use a program called MobiMB (demo version) and it works just fine for transferring pics and tones.

Still did not get anywhere doing that Nick, can't even figure out how the MobiMB demo works.

Amoora, I agree with your comments and think I will have to get a new phone, not able to even transfer a ring tone :(

Strange, everyone in my family uses the Nokia PC Suite (which is gr8 for us). But none of us use Data Cables, we use IR-DA adapters. Perhaps its the cable and its drivers, not the suite itself. We've been using Nokia's software for three years without probs...
