Hi,
Newbie here.
Been browsing the forum and think it's great.

Hope one of you guys may have the answer to a question I have.

I have bought a second hand 8310 and it will not accept voice tags on my popular numbers. I have read somewhere that if you change sim cards you have to delete the old voice tags before you can add new (especially if all 10 are being used). I think all 10 voice tags have been used but I (obviously) cannot delete them as I don't have the old sim card.

Or can I?

The voice commands (for the radio on/off) are OK cos I can delete them.

Thanks.

will doing a reset not help?

Yes, the numbers are on the phone and not the sim. But when I put my sim card in I guess the voice tags that are already in don't 'link up' to any of my numbers so I can't display or delete them.

I have tried the 'factory reset' in settings but this did not seem to work. Are there any other 'resets' I could try?

if i'm right, go into the phonebook's voice tags menu and manually delete all the voice tags. if that does'nt work, well i'm not sure, i've never really played with them. Nokia took them out of their new phones because of their lack of use, the fact that noone ever used them.

Already tried that. It says there are no voice tags saved. But it won't let me save any new ones. Frustrating.

I can't believe Nokia don't have this on the new phones. I think it is the best feature of the 8310 (next t0 it's size). Really handy when driving. Just say the name of the person you want to speak to and PRESTO it rings it for you.
I guess I will have to fiddle around with the phone book whilst changing gear (and probably crashing in the process).
