I found this on another site and thought I'd post it here to see if you agree with what the guy says...
I don't know if you any of you have noticed this, but whenever want to bid on higher priced nokia phones on ebay (or any brand phone for that matter!) I tend to see the following pattern:
1.) Put in a reasonable maximum bid
2.) Bid beaten by someone with 0 feedback score that bids numerous times (to find your bid)
3.) 0 feedback score fella wins.
4.) Few days later you get a second chanceoffer for the phone by the seller for your high price (that was pushed up to your maximum bid).
I have had a look through some of the posts he is generalizing about and he is right. Apparently it's called shill bidding and Ebay don't allow it...
