nokia 6170 help!!!!

I have just bought a nokia 6170 mobile and i am having some difficulty and was wondering if anyone can help.
I am on O2 and have received the settings from them to activate the GPRS settings.I have saved them and then activated them.Then i turned phone off and then back on.
Now the problem is:
When i try and connect it comes back saying subscribe to GPRS first,then the next message comes along saying,no connection made.
Has anyone got any help or had this problem resolved themselves.
please please please help.

Phone O2, get them to activate GPRS on your account, simple as that.

This has been covered god knows how many times before.

May have to call O2 to get them to enable the sim, though nowadays this is normally done automatically.

Sometimes you might find that getting the settings from Nokia themselves (www.nokia.co.uk) works better.

I have contacted O2 but it takes time to respond by email.so i phoned them and they stated that the sim is activated for GPRS and should all work.
I have also gone direct to nokia site and got settings but still no joy.
I have emailed both O2 and Nokia for help but no response as of yet.

Ok, my advice is go into your local dealer and maybe they will be trained enough to fix it for you.

Lewis, thats not the answer. Infact its suggestions like that that make the lives of sales people like myself twice as hard. Listen to the advice given here, its more usefull than any salesperson can tell you, trust me.

As I have contacted O2 and they say its all activated then i am stuck.looks like i might have to visit a mobile shop.
