View Full Version : Nokia 8850?
Just seen this in my local '' computer shop '' ( i use that term loosely) for £129.99 unlocked but with a simcard of your choice..... brand new ans boxed. It does seem a basic handset for the price, but isnt this model one of them hard to find handsets? it does look pretty stylish me thinks, but i wouldnt buy it from there.
That does seem a bit expensive, they sell on eBay for about £100 tops
Nice phones though, think of them as the 8910i of the 1990's. I wouldn't mind having one (just for the sake of having one, would have to be the gold coloured one though).
They originally cost in the region of £400!!!!!!!!!!
These were the gunmetal grey colour (very nice, gold is sooooooooo tacky ;) )
Ian insisted i have a quick potch.....the keypad is awful and the slider is incredibly stiff and awkward feeling....not tempted in the slightest, to buy from that paticular shop is as dodgy as they come as if you need a repair even tho you have the 12 month warranty you would have to sort it out yourself as the ''owner'' would not deal with returns or repairs so i tend to avoid it.
Noooooo the gold is very 'bling'.... silver one looks like it's been wrapped up in Bacofoil.
Can't see me winning this one...... :frown:
Retreating while I can still walk. ;)
Spose the silver one is good for checking lippy though
I havent seen the silver??? i dont think it was (got me thinking now lol ) im sure it was adark sort of grey colour, looked nice though.
I personally think it looks nice, but to me it seems to be like a 8310 with a slide.

Thats pretty much all it is, an 8210 in a slide. Its only 'features' are games (not downloadable), downloadable ringtones, Infrared and an active slide.
We've got one kicking about somewhere. My Dad got me to buy it off my friend about 5 years ago for £20 because a) he had no use for it and b) he had it given to him by his old boss, who got it given to her and had no idea of its value.
We got it and because of who this 'friend' was and how him and his family treat things like that, it had bite marks, scratch marks and was battered to hell :(
We tried getting it fixed but it cost too much, plus the ariel was on its way out.
I might dig it out and ressurect it soon actually ;)
