Vivid appointed worldwide licensee
Love him or loathe him, the Crazy Frog is here to stay, with Vivid Imaginations appointed as the worldwide toy and gift plush licensee.
The Frog ringtone has already notched up 11m downloads as well spawning a number one UK single.
Vivid has now acquired the licence for Jamster's full range of mobile ringtone characters. Singing plush toys featuring the Crazy Frog, Sweety Chick, Nessie the Dragon and Party Bee will be on shelves by October. The characters will be suported by ongoing TV and print advertising campaigns by Jamster.
Steve Manley, founder of licensing agent AT Merchandise, said: "We have been overwhelmed by public, media, licensee and retail interest in these characters.
"We are delighted to have Vivid on board with their expertise in high fashion character marketing, recalling their past success with Flat Eric from the former Levi's advertising campaign."
Marketing and licensing director Emma Shersk said: "Vivid are delighted to be working on such a high profile, exciting property, it’s what we do best. With the worldwide market for ringtone downloads worth approximately $4bn in 2004, these characters have truly international potential and we are on track to airfreight in sound-feature plush toys in less than four months from deal signature.
"There is massive pent-up demand for these characters and we’ll be focusing a highly targeted PR campaign to ensure that these products are number one on the Christmas gift list."
