nokia 6230 mmc card problem please help!!!!!!!!!

hi everyone
got my 6230 and though i could put 1gb mmc card in it to get some music on .got the card pluggded in and the phone didn't even recognized it ,though the card gotta be formated did so (formated into "fat" not "fat 32) NO L U C K :confused:
does anyone why ? is there any thing i can do to make it work on my phone ??????????? (by the way the card isn't falty it works on the pc and digital camera) PLEASE HELP

HI jasek, welcome to the forum.

Have you got a card reader plugged into your PC?

Try formatting it using that if you have.

If not, then try it again in the phone. There's a lot of memory to be formatted in the card

Try formatting it in the phone. Its in the menus somewhere. Thats what I did with the card in my 7610.

did you format it in FAT32 before you formatted it in FAT ??

thanks for your interast DETON8R i have tried both but found out that "fat" is what it should be and still the phone don't wanna know

Some makes of MMC cards of high capacity wont work in the 6230.

I don't know, I dont own a Nokia with a memory card slot, nor have I in the past.

I hope I can help you out a little. I have a Nokia 6230 and wanted very much to expand my memory. But, I just followed the book. It said not to use past 256 MMC card. So that's what I purchased. I works great.

This is what I bought PQI 256MB MMC there are many types but I found this one on Ebay at a pretty good price.

Once I got my memory card I just started moving my graphics & tones to my MMC card. I also renamed my card.

Also just an FYI if you like to download graphics, screensavers & tones here are some neat sites.
