samsung d500 please help explain?

:nervous: hi ive also checked date of phone and comes up with 05/05/02 now i belive this to be an older model d500 so i tried to put code #*7337#. into phone i left sim in and typed the code as it is into phone but what do i do now what button do i press to activate the code iam clueless any help pleases also here is example what is the code and what do i type there *7465625*638*Code# = Enables Network lock

That's not 5th May 2002 but 2005 May 2nd I think. So I wouldn't have thought that the code will unlock the phone. I may be wrong though.

As to the other codes I am afraid I haven't got a clue. I don't know where the person that posted them got them from, and I wouldn't know what they do. So unless you are sure I would leave well alone.

Its not an older model, besides the fact camera phones were not around in 2002, let alone the D500...

And no, none of the codes will work, you'll have to find someone with an unlocking clip.

I've done much searching around and come up with only one sensible option for the newer D500, of which your's certainly appears to be 1 - you will need a cable unlocking solution like me.

I've bought a cable and unlocking software - Samsung new winimei d500 version .34 and successfully unlocked my phone at first attempt - easy part!!

Then I tried to 'de-brand' the phone from Orange's style using the same cable and Corona Downloader software - something went seriously wrong in the early stages of this process and now the phone will not switch on at all.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to rectify this problem I would be greatly obliged to hear from them.

Hi Biskitt,

you certainly do need a cable and although I used a serial cable and the new winimei software, I cannot comment on whether or not a USB cable will work.

I unlocked at first attempt then failed in the re-branding to begin with only because my phone battery died in the process of uploading - fortunately when I discovered the problem I was able to re-brand successfully and now my D500E operates without the orange banding and has the original Samsung menu system.

I will help anyone wanting the software, but please do try to get it from the links mentioned on this forum first.
