I recently brought a Nokia 7250 at a carboot. I've put my sim card in and everything seems to be OK except for when I try and make a call when it comes up with "Call Not Allowed". I can text, receive texts and receive incoming calls. I presume Outgoing calls are barred, though I'm not 100% certain. I've tried to access the status of the barring but it comes up with "Request not completed". I've also tried to cancel any barrings with passwords "0000" and "1111" and "1234" just in case these were the passwords but with no success. I was wondering if anyone has any idea how to sort this problem out.
Thanks in advance for any help. :)
If its barred there is nothing that you can do im afraid.

Thanks for your reply. I would of thought if it has barring on there would be a password to de-activate this? Also if the password has been forgotton then there's usually manufacturer's code to reset these back to the original password?

if you have an orange or o2 sim card(an active one) stick it in if you get a signal its not barred.
if you don,t get a signal its deffo barred.

Thanks for your reply. I do have a O2 sim which I've put in and there is a signal. I've even managed to make a call through the menus eg weather forecast, or directory enquiries. It only comes up with Call not allowed if I put in a number manually or try to call a number in my phone book.
