nokia unlocked?

I bought my 6230 on O2 from argos for £133.00 and assumed it was locked? i just typed in my unlocking code and after i had pressed the final hash button the code didnt do anything it just sat on the screen.....so i tried it again and the result was the same so i thought i would leave it.

Just tried an orange and a voda sim in it and they are both working! so what i wondered was is the phone already unlocked or did the code work after all considering it just seemed to sit on the screen?

obviously it doesnt matter as the phone is unlocked one way or another but i just wondered?

Maybe it wasn't locked after all.

I know that most of the O2 contract phones are unlocked, maybe your PAYG one just slipped through the net.

I have my nokia 3410 that has been working well, I put in a password to bar incoming calls but I do not remember it.I checked with my service provider who said that its a phone feature I need to input the code.I have tried 0000 1234 but not working. S/N 351100803910515
