nokia 3310 drops call

my wifes nokia 3310 sometimes switches off from the call she is making , this isnt frequent .the screen goes blank and the call is lost any suggestions sorry if i am not to clear

my personal advice? Burn the retched thing and get a new one :)
My more practical advice: 1) make sure that she's in full signal coverage when she's making the call, if theres not enough signal the call will drop. but this does'nt explain the blank screen so, 2) how old is the phone, 3) did you buy insurance when you got it and 4) does the screen come back on after it disapears after the call ends?

i dont know how old the phone is i do know that it has good signal coverage for my area and lastly the scren goes of but does not come on again until you start over

right, well i'd suggest digging out the reciept and taking it back to the shop. If you know that it's definetly over 1 year old, then their sod all that can done about it. You could pay to have it repaired, but considering the model of phone, it'd just be cheaper to buy a new one. Phones, especially the 3310 (a piece of junk in it's own right. sorry, my opinion, i just despise it), dont last for ever and many will last about 3 years at the most before they start to pack up. Some of the older ones still work today, but probably because they get little use.

When you say Start over again, do you mean switch the phone back on again ?
If so, then its possible the battery is faulty, maybe its not holding the charge any longer, Take your 3310 to a Mobile shop and ask if they could try another Nokia 3310 Battery in it.. Unless you know somebody else with 1 you could use to try...
Then if it is the battery check out some great bargins on ebay to purchase 1...

The 3310 is one of the WORST phone I have ever come across in my life. It was good on release, and thats the only time it was any good.
We have god knows how many come back because of various faults and problems all the time. It's one of Nokia's least robust phones too. You so much as blow dust on it and it falls to pieces....
Burning it would be putting it out of it's misery. It's like an injured pet. The family think 'it'll do' just because it's a pet, regardless of what it does or how it does it, and it's begging to be put out of it's misery, but the family keep it just because it's there. I'll admit, thats a bit of an extreme comparison, but still, some relativity there somewhere :)
Of course, it's nothing compared to the satan-phone that is the 8310, you don't want to get me started on that one...
