Why doesnt my data cable work?

Well i bought my cable off ebay and its not a DKU-5 so i dont expect it to work with nokia suite thing. But however it is a D port cable and did come with some software. Oxygen something or other and mobile MB or soemthing. Anyway neither of these pieces of software are reading my phone. Is it the software is it the cable, should i just go out and buy a proper nokia cable. With a nokia cable can i still upload ringtones, logos etc?

wit a nokia cable, you prob can download ringtones. I think the data cable you bought is faulty, try buying one from www.mobilefun.co.uk
