I just recently bought a cable for my nokia 6100 and it doesn't seem to be working properly. Its a serial cable and on the back of it says "NKI 6100". When I plug it into my computer the screen on my phone flashes. I read that this happens when theres a problem with the cable. So I opened it up and saw that there was only 3 prongs that were connected to wires. I'm wondering if I have a faulty cable.. I'm especially curious because I bought it in Chinatown for a cheap price... and who knows if its legit. Here are some pictures of the cable closed and opened. BTW, I've tried Nokia Phone Suite, MobiMB, and Oxygen. Thanks in advance

i'd say you've got a dud cable there. Always buy either USB or official cables, or at least from a trusted source such as a dedicated website, otherwise what happened to you will happen.

Same happened to me mate. My COM port adapter made my screens brightness go right up so it was very white and it flickered a bit. My COM port adapter doesnt work, neither does my USB one either as im still looking for some drivers for it as the USB is still listed on my computer as an "unknown" USB device.
