We've been with Nextel 4-5 years. We've had the i90 (loved it), and then got the i730. We loved the style, the ease of use, the battery life, just totally LOVED this phone. BUT...had dropped calls, and cut outs in areas that we'd never ever had problems before. We called Customer Care and was trying to work with them thinking it was a "tower" problem. Finally, after a couple of months, we got a call from Customer Care advising us we needed to have our software updated and to take our phones to a Nextel Service Center. Fortunately, we have a great Nextel Service Center in Franklin, TN. During the 2 weeks working with them, we found out that about 1/3 of the i730 phones had problems (just like we were having). We agreed to do testing for Motorola...they tried inserting clips inside the phone, and several other things. Finally, they took our i730's and gave us i830 phones. They work great! We, unlike most other people, loved the big, sturdy feel of the i730, and find the i830 to be rather small! The i830 is an awesome phone, and works great. We're very pleased and impressed with Nextel that they stood behind their product. We've heard they brought out the i710 as a replacement for the i730. BTW...my husband and I LOVE Nextel...great call quality, the rings are loud, calls don't drop or fade out, and the best Customer Care service. We've never had a problem with them...they're always willing to correct problems and work with us to keep us happy. Hope our info regarding the i730 helps some of you that are having the same problems we had.
