I currently own a Nokia 3410 on a T-mobile contract! (poor me! :()

When I started my contract I recieved my phone unblocked! which was a bonus! :shades:

BUT

I recently cancelled my contract, and was told that if I wanted to go to another network that I would need to phone them and pay £15 to get my phone unblocked.

Is there anyway they can tell whether my phone is blocked or not without physically having the phone?

also if they do block my phone, is there any way of unblocking it without paying the £15?

I don't think they can block your phone. Had the 12 months contract expired? If so, then you are free to go to any network you choose. I guess they mean your phone is locked to T-Mobile and they will charge you £15 to UNLOCK it.

This forum does not (at the moment) unlock DCT3 phones (the 3410 is one of them) but one in particular does remotely - you just need to give them your IMEI number, network and phone model. Typically it's about five or six quid. A shop would probably charge about a tenner.

Interested in this? PM me if you are..

we've tried both my O2 sim cards in his phone and they work fine, so it's not locked. What we're not sure of is, if DCT3 phones can be unlocked remotley then can they be locked remotley?
The thing is, T-Mobile contract phones are meant to be locked to the network, where as Dale's is'nt, so now that the contracts finished, we're wondering if they can/are going to remotley lock his phone back to T-Mobile. If they cant/dont then he can use an O2 sim in it (which I think he said is what he wants to do).

If the contract is finished and has been cancelled, then the phone is his and they can't do anything about it.

I don't think the phone can be locked remotely, it could be blocked by them but the phone would have to be reported stolen (which it isn't).
