I have been bought an early xmas present of an MP3 player and wondered if anyone knows what is the best software to convert tracks to MP with?
I am using Adaptech which came with my CD burner but the highest bitrate seems to be only 58 kbps and i wanted to use software with 128 kpbs.
I dont know much about this so wondered if any of you can help. I also have musicmatch but i hate using this so any suggestions would be well appreciated.
many many thanks
Bunny.

While reading your post I was about to suggest Music Match, as its recognised as the best encoder.

There are millions of software applications out there to help you. You might want to start looking on download.com.

Windows Media Player 7.0> is ok.

What don't you like about Music Match??

I usually encode at 96kbps, as its the lowest bi-rate producing the smallest size files that have a decent sound.

Thanks for your help:)
reinstalled musicmatch and it is now working perfectly. And you are right about the compression size, the quality is still the same plus i can get more on the memory card:)
