I know there is a thread discussing the n-gage, but i wanted to start one to see if anyone knows much about the games which nokia are producing themselves for it. Ive heard of one title called'pathway to glory' which is meant to be a multi player online war game, but thats all. Anyone reckon they will pull it off?

That worries me a bit multiplayer gaming on a phone thats going to cost a lot to run..... depends what tariffs they come up with for gaming....I certainly wouldn't be spending 30 pence a minute on online gaming....

Im not sure if its online as in the sense of 30p a min. From what i gather its more using the net to enhance your gameplay.

Nokia's own website for the NGage (i think it's probably www.ngage.com) shows screenshots for most of the games and most of the recent games magazines will have some screen shots on it, especially Games Master.
And having seen them, i must say, i'm over all impressed. The graphics are equal and in some cases better than the Playstation. However, these graphics on a small device some at a price, the sheer sluginess of them. Apparently they jerk all the time and tend to be quite slow because of the low fps (frames per second)
I still can't believe it does'nt support any form of camera tho! i mean come on Nokia, thats just stupid!

id like to get my hands on one, just to see the quality, these screen shots can be misleading.
Yeah camera could be good, guess it will take a few tries before they get it perfect.

Seems like my prayers have been answered. Nokia are touring the n-gage, by having club style nights, which let you play it before its release. Gonna be one somewhere in london, gotta go.

I went into our local Vodafone shop and there had one in there to try out and I must admit, it played Pandemonium very well on it.
The Graphics were really clear and very good.
Control was easy to.
Sound was reasonable...
The N-Gage looks a bit on the chunky side to me..
I agree about not having a Camera,, Shame on Nokia
End of the day the only thing I hated was the idiot who kept telling me do you need any help sir ! we are closing in 5mins :pissed: Grrrrrrr

multiplayer games should be good if they're through bluetooth!

well duh ;)
that is the whole idea of Bluetooth. It works well, but like i've said, it picks up everything else thats Bluetooth activated within a 10metre radius, which can get a bit confusing if theres another N-Gage wandering around near you and you accidentaly connect to that one, all hell would break loose lol :)

Hence BlueJacking the major hobby for all new Bluetooth freaks.....

slater_son

yeah right, would that mean you would automatically loose the game you are playing?

lol aaron, it's pants once you start using it as a phone :)
Keep your GBA-SP, it's better (not in terms of graphics, but graphics that good on a screen as small as the N-Gage's is a strain on the eye after a while).

I think it's an ugly looking thing, and i certainly wouldn't pay between £20 - £30 for a game for a phone.
Think i'll stick with my free 3510i games and spend the money on X-Box games

In this situation size does seem to matter. Maybe a new trend will start where we see guys taking round handbags, just for their n-gage!!Or perhaps a throw back to when bumbags were seen to be 'cool'?
