Sorry if this is a really stupid question but here goes...:

You can enable and disable GPRS on your phone. Does it cost you money while you have it enabled? If not, what is the point in disabling it then?

Depends if your network operator charges for it. I wouldn't have thought that they can charge you for it if you have it on but are not using it.
