My 6100 will not send MMS messages. I've downloaded both lots of settings (GPRS and MMS) from the o2 website and two weeks later I still can't send them. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME????

I'm using an o2 pay-as-you-go simcard (not the o2online one but a normal o2 one).

Just a thought have you tried to speak with O2 .....also what errors do you receive when you try to send the messages.

my friend had the exact same problem, the website settings were of no use, so go to your nearest o2 shop and ask them to do it, that's what worked for him

Just thought that I'd let you know that I managed to get it sorted.

I was nosing through the Nokia site (www.nokia.com) and I found the settings on there. So I downloaded them to my phone and......................

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!

They worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have sent two MMS messages in three months.

Its good to have the ability to send MMS on my phone but not something I'd lose any sleep over. Like you, the novelty wore odd..

To be honest I don't think this has really taken off yet, two reasons why.

Too expensive to send them at the moment.
Not enough people have the phones capable so no one really to send them to.

If the price was the same as text messaging and everyones phone had it then I think it would be a lot better...

In a years time I think things will be very different.

Exactly!!!!

35p a message is too much. And given the fact that you might have a good quality image to send and due to the limitations of the colour screens of some phones (compare the T100 to the Nokia colour creens - the T100 is way better) it comes out crap at the other end.

One day it will be all the rage but until then.....

hate to be pedantic, but the T100 does'nt support picture messaging anyway....
but i see your point. However, those who dont have MMS phones can still recieve them. You send it to their number, and they get a text message telling them to go to the website of their service provider and telling them to enter a password and a code, and they can view your picture. Yes, it's not as mobile, but means they can still get to it. A bit like e-mailing from your phone.
And as for cost, bear in mind a Nokia picture message (the standard black and white ones on some of the older phones, and on some samsungs too) cost 30-40p to send, where as MMS cost as little as 34p, so not bad considering what you can send for that 35p. Cheaper than e-mail anyway.
And the price is set to come down if thats too expensive.

When is the price likely to be coming down then??

I guess that when you explain it like that Daedalus, it's not too expensive really.

it'll take some time, but they will come down eventually. remember when SMS was about 30-40p?
Infact, SMS is set to take a tumble for same network texts to follow Virgin's price slash of 3p texts to Virgin mobiles.
MMS has already been cut from around 40p from it's release to around 34p each, so it is gradulay coming down. The great thing is, the networks will keep battleing it out until everything is dirt cheap :)
